Joy G. McNally focuses her practice on appellate matters. She has unique insight into our appellate courts based upon her experience serving on the staff of a number of Pennsylvania’s most distinguished appellate court jurists. She clerked for the late Chief Justice Ralph J. Cappy, former Chief Justice Ronald D. Castille, and current Justice Debra M. Todd, of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. She has researched and reviewed all manner of issues that came before the Court, reviewed petitions for allowance of appeal, briefs, and other documents filed with the Court, and assisted in opinion writing. She understands, first-hand, the Court’s decision-making process and how to best position an appeal for success. Additionally, Ms. McNally clerked for former Judge Maureen E. Lally-Green of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, and for the late Judge Carol Los Mansmann of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Earlier in her career, she practiced for 10 years at the firms of Cindrich & Titus, Cohen and Grigsby and Buchanan Ingersoll.
Most recently, Ms. McNally was the Interim Director of the Thomas R. Kline Center for Judicial Education of the Duquesne University School of Law. She was also a Special Advisor to the Law School’s Dean and an adjunct professor of law. She is presently a Special Research Fellow to the University’s President.
Ms. McNally and her husband reside in Edgewood, Pennsylvania.
