Richard A. Swanson
Email Link Richard Swanson is an experienced civil litigator whose practice focuses on business disputes and general commercial litigation. Before joining the firm in 2004, Mr. Swanson was a senior associate at Reed Smith LLP in Pittsburgh. He represents both public and private companies and provides specialized legal services to individuals, small businesses, investors and shareholders. He also provides business transaction services, including organizing business entities and negotiating mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Swanson has successfully represented clients in all types of business disputes, including class actions, financial services litigation, securities fraud, construction and design claims, creditor rights, director and officer liability, insurance coverage, contract matters and products liability. He has significant experience with jury and non-jury trials, appellate work, arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Swanson graduated cum laude from Duquesne University School of Law where he finished second in his class and where he received the Alcoa Scholarship for academic excellence. He graduated magna cum laude from Allegheny College with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society.
